INB passwords changed June 13th

On June 13th 2008, the password you use to access Internet Native Banner (USU Banner) at http://banner.usu.edu, will automatically change to the strong password you created in March or April of this year.  This requires no action on your part, other than to remember to use your strong password on June 13th to access this system.  It does not change the username you use for it.

(USU INB)

Internet Native Banner (USU INB) is used by Staff, Faculty, and Administrators for daily university transactions including payroll, advising, purchasing, enrollments, accounting, human resource management, etc.  It is accessed through http://banner.usu.edu

FAQ

Why is my USU INB password changing?

Current INB passwords do not follow our new guidelines for strong passwords.  It will also sync INB with our central identity management system, keeping passwords and access to the Universities data more secure.

Why is my username staying the same and not changing to my A#?

There are some screens within banner where it is becomes necessary and is more efficient to view a name rather than a A#.

When will my password change?

The password sync will start in the evening of Thursday June 12th and continue through the early morning hours of Friday June 13th.  USU INB will be available during this password change time, so if you try your old password and it does not work, try your new strong password.

What is my strong password?

This is the password you created in March or April of 2008 at http://password.usu.edu.  It is used to access Blackboard, Aggiemail, Access, Aggies Exchange and other system on campus.  If you do not remember your strong password or never created on, you can visit http://password.usu.edu for more information. At this site you can reset your password by using the challenge questions you implemented when you created your strong password.

Why are we doing this now?

USU INB passwords were automatically set to expire at the end of June.  This allows us to make the change to a password you already have and know without having to create a new one.
